Caps lock question reverting to type
Another solution to the cAPS lOCK problem.
‘Would it not be easier to simply suggest to Microsoft that it should have an option in Word to reverse the case? Surely this would be a much more economical option,’ says Michael Lang at Nielsen Media Research, who rather flatteringly seems to have overestimated our influence.
We have a long and unsuccessful record of giving unprompted advice to Microsoft, starting from a day many years ago when Bill Gates, then still chief executive, solicited our opinion on a new release of Microsoft Windows. Backbytes launched into a carefully prepared and devastating criticism of a technical flaw. ‘That is not the question you should be asking,’ said Bill, turning to someone else.
So in the interests of brevity, we bring what we assume will be Microsoft’s response: ‘Can’t you just type properly? We are busy.’
This facility has been in MS Word for years. You highlight the text and do Shift-F3 repeatedly, it will cycle through cAPS lOCK, CAPS LOCK, caps lock, and Caps Lock

Irony? "Would it not be easier to simply suggest to Microsoft that it should have an option in Word to reverse the case?"
A bit like the toggle case option on the Format|Change Case menu?

There is actually an existing option in Word to do just as Michael Lang suggests. If you select your text and click 'Format > Change Case' you'll find, among others, an option to 'tOGGLE cASE'. You could of course use the shortcut 'Alt OEG'.

Er - Microsoft Word DOES have an option to "Correct Accidental Usage of cAPS LOCK key".

Michael Lang at Nielsen Media Research needs to do a bit more... err "Research"
Microsoft Word 2003 already provides this functionality
Try Format->Change Case->tOGGLE cASE

You must have some influence over Microsoft as there is an option in Word to reverse the case.
Try Format / Change Case which gives five options to change the case.
